Daruma
Daruma started in Kyoto in 1901, by Chozaemon Yokota, making the world's highest quality threads for silk and woollen fabrics and sewing threads. The founder is said to have started making the thread, believing in his commitment to quality, "price is temporary, quality is eternal." As the years went by, Daruma also began to manufacture knitting and crochet yarns, using high-quality natural materials, such as premium silk and Falkland wool.
The spinning factory of Daruma is situated at the foot of Mount Ibuki, the highest mountain of Shiga Prefecture in Japan. Despite the usage of modern spinning machinery, the quality of the yarn is still guaranteed by the manual quality control of employees with special expertise.
